come accross this a bit where we have an existing wall and are going to render the existing face and you aren't able to give colour to an existing wall, any suggestions?? i've used filled regions, a wall which looks existing but is new(but then it wont show up on existing conditions plan) and massing a thin layer over wall.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I have no problem giving a colour to existing walls, assuming you're talking about phasing. Check the phases as they show differently for different phases - try show complete to render correctly.
