2009 version Does anyone know how to make a viewport title with boxes around both the drawing number / sheet # AND the title of the drawing? The box would need to flex to fit the words? Any advice Thanks AAron

Did it flex in CAD? No? I guess you did something else if that is your standard. Same thing here.

Our title in CAD did / does flex. Is there a way to grab it and use it in revit?

Did you try? You can create your own view title and with a parameter you too can flex a line ofr box in it but just like in CAD, it will not flex automatically to the length of the text.

The CAD flexs automatically in CAD, I have not been able to pull it into Revit yet. I will make the one and just flex it each time. Thank you. AAron

you can't flex it graphically, it has to be numerically (feel free to correct me if wrong, but I never managed to figure out a method). You would have to tell the view title element that it is to draw it's box(s) a certain size... the issue is that the viewport object contains the view title element, and thus there is no way to tell the object that it is a certain size... our company has found that if you need a box as I think you are using it, just use detail lines and draw your box.

You are right TABEST ... since reference planes are not available in a viw title family, you can not make the box visually adjustable. You would have to set up a few fixed ... type families or an instance based family where you would enter the number. It's been awhile so I may be wrong but I don't think autocad reads the visual length of a text field so I don't know how the AutoCAD title would be automatic. but then again ... my memory is getting worse.

Thank you TABEST. WWhub, I can try to send you the self adjusting title block in CAD 09 if you would like.
