after you "paint" a surface is there a properties dialogue somewhere that identifies the specific paint fill that was used? is there a way to "match properties" that would allow only the "paint" pattern and not any other properties to be copied to the item to be modified?

A couple of ways to track painted surfaces that I've found: 1) Use a material tag. 2) Using the paint bucket, hover over the painted surface, the status bar should tell you what is currently "painted" on the surface. To my knowledge, the only way to change the paint pattern (I'm assuming you mean the material, not just the fill pattern) with no other properties is by using the paint bucket.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |
