I added the cast stone coping via wall profile successfully after hours of trying to figure out how to do this.  I'm new to Revit but getting the hang of it day by day.  How do I get the ends of the coping to the correct profile?  I tried wall returns but it cuts the corners and exposes the cut area with a diagonal.

I can't really see the image well, but im guessing the look your going for can be acheived with a wall sweep rather than building the sweep into the structure. With a wall sweep you can change the sweep return.

Here's a close up.  I'm pretty new to Revit so your advanced responses are not as straightforward to understand.

It's a wall sweep with a custom profile as noted above.

That's a good place to build an in-place family. I would create the majority of the element with an extrusion then add the detailed area of the stone face with a sweep around the extrusion. Or else build it all with one single rectangular sweep.

I am curious if you build your wrought iron railing there with just model lines?

alabaster2513, thanks for your response.  I'm not sure I get what you said.  How do you create the coping as an extrusion?  Using what category?  Could you be more specific as to what you mean by building as one rectangular sweep?  I'm on a deadline so I would appreciate some help.  Or what other source can I look at for adding details to make the project more convincing.  I'm not sure the tutorials were all that helpful in this case.

I built the wrought iron railing with just model lines, yes.

Here is just a quicky i did.

I created an in-place-family in the walls category. Extruded the main mass from the top of the wall, then i traced a path for the sweep around the extrusion.

Or you can create only one extrusion and after create a void around the extrusion...

sequence as follows

1. basic/wall

2. pick plane/top of wall

3. modeling/create/wall

4. solid extrusion (to create the center mass)

5. solid sweep (sweep your profile around the extrusion)

6. join geometry (join the extrusion and the sweep to appear as one element)
