Is there any way of exporting groups created in Revit to a CAD format with all the group properties?I found this problem when I created a unit type group and copied multiple times in different floor levels. When Converting this to a CAD format, the groups don't come as groups. So if the engineer or other architect from another company wants to make a change in the unit type, they have to do it one by one in every level. Is there any way of solving this issue?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, the "Groups" in Revit it's like a "Block" in Cad, so you can create a group in revit, save group and then export to cad...

thanks for the response, this answers some portion of our problem.

We are trying to figure out a way to export the overall floor plan or elevation to CAD with the groups attached as Blocks so that the cad file would have all the groups as Blocks (or XREFs) which makes editing so much easier.

For now all when we export the floor plan to CAD all the groups turns to single lines. The result is editing all the units (or bay windows or etc.) one by one. It would be much easier to edit them if they the groups would become Blocks in the drawing.

Groups will not export as ACAD blocks.

Create the block in AutoCAD, import the dwg file into Revit, group the the dwg block instance in Revit.

Exporting the groups back to AutoCAD will explode the Revit groups but still keep the AutoCAD block instances.
