Hi everyone, I got 2 doubts this time: 1. As I am working in home, every time i need a print on a large sheet i am exparting the revit files to JPEG or BMP format, as revit has no option to export the files to PDF, I do know that the DXF format will help in this regard, but soft ware might not be of avail at the printing points. Also when I export the files to DWG format differences are found in the text scale or the dimensions and this has to be corrected. So, is there a way to get the drawings printed to true scale with good clarity? any add-in software that does it.

REVIT does not export to PDF, it will print ot a PDF file. You just need the pdf writing program on your machine. We use cutepdf writer. We use this writer to create all of our pdf's which we send to our printer company or email. Everything is to scale and correct.

BTW, I don't know what your problems are but our dwg's are also always to scale and correct.

I think he's not refering to the scale/size of the drawing but rather fonts/pts/other text options being different in the dwg then they are in revit.

well, the first part of the doubt is cleared, I also found CUTE PDF, PDF FACTORY & PRIMO PDF softwares into the list which can do the conversion of files to PDF. Regarding the later part - concern with the exported output from REVIT. As the export option in REVIT has limited options when turning the files to CAD, the dimension in REVIT doesnt appear the same in DWG files and sometimes the text looks different in its appearance as compared to that in REVIT. TO say - as a blind guess - it is because REVIT exports only the elements in it and not the libraries which dictates how the text and dimensions shud appear in it. If the above text doesnt seem to give any clue, I will add a copy of the both the REVIT & CAD files to give a clear picture. I appreciate if can help me in this regard.

If you have Adobe Acrobat on your computer and set up as a printer, then you should be able to print a PDF file by selecting Adobe PDF as your printer. Unless I am missing something in the question, we do that every day to generate PDF's. Hope this helps.

In addition, you can set up the sheet sizes in Adobe under custom paper sizes if you need to. (acrobat 8 and above have them pre-loaded. That way you can print at 100% and keep your scale. I know this is true for Adobe Acrobat Pro. I am not sure about the free Acrobat Reader.
