Ill start by giving you some background- our firms in house survey people have created in civil 3d/autocad an incredibly large detailed site plan that contains EVERYTHING I want to import it (minus a few layers) in revit for an architectural site plan, I have tried freezeing, and turning off all of the unwanted layers and importing it checking the box to import ionly visible layers but every time ALL of the layers come in and are visible. If I link it then only a few layers come in and some of the ones I need do not. what do I do in Revit/cad to bring in only the layers I want?

Thanks in advance

Hi, in CAD save the file with other name, then open and delete everything what do you don't need, then purge and go to revit and import the file...

so thier is no way to do it without deleting, I only ask because I was hoping to be able to use the file for multiple imports and was hoping not to have to make a bunch of files?

Thanks
