Can anyone tell me how to include symbols in text notes - like degrees, plus/minus, diameter, etc? Thanks, Karen Post edited on 2004-01-22 10:02:52

have you tried using the keyboard command for making symbols? for instance, holding down the alt key and typing 248 will make a ° symbol. Num Lock must be on. Also, check out the following link for information on using the windows character map for symbols. http://csssrvr.entnem.ufl.edu/~walker/5810/04FNKBch.PDF

Hi Karen, If what Hiroshi said didn't work for you. You can just simply open Windows Character Map under accessories. Just select the font you use and find the symbol in the library. Then just copy and paste it. Dave.

Why hasn't revit included an easier way to include degrees symbol?... isn't this symbol one of the most commonly used and integral part of building measurement symbols?

Most programs that implement a tool to manage these "symbols" are generally just links to the windows character map. Why waste precious programming time doing this when there are far more pressing issues? My 2 cents.

To get the degress symbol hold down ALT & hit + 0176 ° ALT & hit + 0178 for the 2 in metres square ² There are hundreds of combinations many are the same as the character map on windows.
