I've been using Revit 2008 for about a month. I need to create a pilaster which has some sweeps and reveals on it. I can not get the sweeps to go all the way around the pilaster and connect back to the wall. The pilaster is not very deep. I've tried changing wall types but with no luck, also tried a variety of combinations with the wrapping options (unless there are more than the two, in which case I don't know where to find them). This is a common detail in a lot of retail construction these days (think standard strip mall/chain store), so I'm guessing that there has to be a way. Can someone please give me some directions on this? Thank you!

Are your pilasters walls that form the bump out or an actual column component that is embedded in a wall? This makes a difference in how the sweep works.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

They are actual walls that form a rectangular bump out, not a component. In actual construction, the pilasters would be a stud wall which sits directly in front of the main stud wall. Since I posted the original question, I've been able to get them to work in Revit by creating a wall type which is simply the brick veneer with the sweep, no studs/air layer etc... behind it. While this visually gets me to what I want for elevations, it's really messy in plans and doesn't show how it would truly be built. I'm still wondering if there's a "correct" way to accomplish this. Thanks!

This is where iI would create a wall type with the sweeps and reveals built into the wall rather than applied afterwards.
