So I was watching TV the other night and a commercial for the new HP Touchsmart PC came on, this got me to thinking... They market this as a "home entertainment Hub"... what if this can be used with Revit or AutoCAD or what ever? Throw out the mice and get your fingertips loosened up. Imagine designing with the tools "literally" at your fingertips. It's like combining art, old-school drafting with the new technologies of today. It could give the artistic element back to architecture again. Comments? Anyone using this sort of technology now?

Thanks,

It's not far off.  With nVidia releasing their mobile 3D chipset, 3D and touchscreen technology is very close to being integrated as an industry standard.  As an example, you can looksee what Microsoft is doing with its Surfaces product, which is beyond amazing.

However, despite technology getting to the point of "hands on" design, I would say that you'll never be able to beat good ol' pen to paper method when it comes to initial designs at client meetings Smile

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
