The results of painting surfaces is not precise at all!!!! I could prove it working with the 3D (painting) while looking at the Mat. take off. Its giving me a lot of mistakes. Any other advise? Thank you.

the painting tool as far as i remember is purley visual and it wont effect your schdues so if you are doing a material take-off then don't use the paint tool. may not be the answer you are after sorry.

I avoid the paint bucket like the plague. I have managed to go over two years now without paint-bucketing anything. I have only ever seen it correctly used once and that one would have no bearing on material take-offs. During the in-house training we do for new-hires, it falls into the category of "Last Resorts". OK, now my stomach hurts just thinking about it....ack, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth......d@m* paint buck...aaaaaaaaack!

I think the best advice is "Revit has a paint bucket tool?"
