Revit Architecture 2009 Is there a way to convert Generic Model floor based to just the Generic Model?

kinda, what I do is copy everything into the generic model family. Bad news, detail stuff can't be copied, between families, so you end up with ony model lines and geometry. No imports, symbolic lines, etc... Depending on the difficulty of your family, I usually just start over... Sorry there is no "good" solution that I'm aware of... GL

It was past 1am when I started the family and didn't really pay attention to the "floor based" part in the template name. Luckily, it wasn't too complex, redrawing it took less than half the time of the original one since I was able to copy a few things.
