Hi, you must render in revit and then go to Photoshop and "Put" the background (the sky you want).

That has also been my experience as the skies in revit can be unpredictable. At times, the sky does some amazing renderings...but more often than not the sky is horrible. When you export your rendering, it's easier to export as a bitmap then use the alpha channel in photoshop to add your background image.

I find it is a real shame that one can use whatever image as background on Elevation Views, but can't create any new skies i.e. for renderings... Or is there a "secret" way to do it? Can anyone share?

put your background image in a drafting view, then export your render as a tiff then insert the tiff over your background in the drafting view.
