i know in revit they are called origins, but how do i set them. what i have going on is a piece of window trim that i need to set they insertion point at an iside corner of the trim so i can place it over a window by picking the same outside corner of the window. i know you can create windows with trim but for now i chose to do them apart.

I don't understand, when you build a family the origin is the insertion point...

i made my 1X6 window trim from the genric wall hosted family. when i go to insert the trim over the window i can't snap to the window corner. i have to insert in the project then grab the corner of the trim and then move it to the corner of the window to place it where i want it. i was trying to elimante placing it then having to move it to where i need it, by just being able to insert it at the exact spot needed
