This seems like a simple enough issue, however we can not figure it out. We are working on modeling existing conditions of a barn. As you can see by the attached image it has one main roof line and then on the perpendiular elevations it has secondary gables (the two are not the same width but both meet the top of the roof line). as you can see both from the cad files and from the inclosed photo the footprint of these is concurrent with that of the main roof (ie the secondary gables are niether pulled out or pushed back). Thus in lies the issue. If we create it as one roof because thier is no projection we have no ability to define the slope of the secondary gable. If we join two roofs then in interioir perspective or elevation we see the remainents of the roof. and we also cant to it the way it was done in this( http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=5487) thread because thier is no projection (in that thread im pretty sure it could have all been one rrof, actually). The only way ive gotten it close to lloking correct both interioir and exterior was by extending it at the secondary gables so that I had line to defins lope by, but thats not actually correct. (as far as the steeple, I havent gotten that far yet, well cross that bridge when we come to it) Thanks,

Step 1. Draw perimeter of building. Step 2. Cut the line on the wall with the dormer into three segments, the middle one being the length of the dorrmer at the bottom of the valleys. On the attached drawing, each dimension string is a line segment. The two outer segments should be set to define the roof slope, the middle line segment should not. Step 3. Draw a slope arrow from the endpoint of the middle line to the midpoint of the line. Do this for both sides of the line segment (so the arrows meet in the middle). Step 4. Click finish and go into an elevation. Step 5. Measure from the eave line to the ridge-take note of the dimension. Step 6. Go back to a floor plan and edit the roof. Select the slope arrow, and in properties, under "specify" select "height at tail". Then under "height offset at head" enter the dimension you took in the elevation. Now you should have the eaves and ridge line up perfectly. Hope that was what you were looking for.
