Using RAC 2008.

I have searched the forums, but have not found anything; if I have overlooked something, sorry.I created a stacked wall from a 4-1/2" interior partition wall (36" ht.) with a glass "wall" above to use as a shower enclosure.  Why can't I add a door to this wall? How would I go about creating a glass shower door to use in this situation.  As a workaround, I drew a door on the floor plan using detail lines; doesn't help me in a 3D or  elevation view.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.Jim

A glass shower door is a good candidate for a curtain wall, as you'll probably have "muntins" at the corners, etc.  Then, I add a curtain wall glass door to it.  Also, it makes it easier to do things such as add a marble wall cap to the wall below the glass shower enclosure.

I created my own shower door & wall as a family complete with hardware.  I don't want it as a wall and door.

A family would work well also.  It would come down to how you need to use it.  We rarely design the same shower enclosure twice, and while a family could work with a few minor changes, it would need to be much to parametric for our needs.

I never addressed your stack wall issue, either.  A door should cut into a stacked wall.  Try inserting your door into an "out of the box" stacked wall, and then and "out of the box" door into your stacked wall and see if either of those works.  It might narrow down the possible issues.  What does the end result look like when you try to insert it, or for that matter, what error message do you get?

If I'm understanding you correctly

you created a family that is a wall and shower door but the door does not cut the wall

in the family itself, try using a void extrusion to cut the wall where the door intersects it

if you use a generic wall based family you can use the void extrusion to cut the wall when it is inserted then you just create the stacked wall like any other wall which will give you the ability to tag and schedule it.

Glass Shower Door is a shower door made completely of glass. They won't bother with edges to help their weight or slide on. These entryway just about generally works by swinging open and shut on pivots. They are normally introduced as a major aspect of a bigger, frameless glass shower, and it's the absence of edges all around that attract such a large number of property holders to this inventive shower outline. The King David gallery has been giving world's best glass fine art products and services.
