Greetings everyone.

I have a issue that I'm trying to see if this would work but I'm not as familiar with keynotes and formulas to make a guess if its possible or not.

First a little background, since we use multiple disipline keyed notes (as sheet notes) on our Tenant Improvements I have set up a new keyed note file and arranged them by sheet and designated them as @##%## where @ is the disipline designator for the sheet and the ## afterwards is the sheet number it belongs too.  % is the disipline designator for the keyed note and ## afterwards it the note number.  This way I can sort the keyed note list the way our office has done it before.  Now to the issue at hand.  Each keyed note is 6 digits long and I would like to make a keyed note symbol that has a shared parameter that I can show that strips the first 3 digits of the keyed note designator?  Is this possible? I couldn't find anything on text formulas and such.

 Thanks in advance,

Michael Flure

I think you need to spend some time with your REVIT help "keynote" and your REVIT tutorial book because from your question I don't think you understand how keynotes work in REVIT.

Keynotes do not use shared parameters.  They are indexed by the number you assign them in your keynote file.  If you use keynotes by sheet, REVIT will only use this number to find the right keynote but it will assign the keynote a number based on the order it is placed on the sheet.  If you use keynotes by project, the same keynote will have the same number no matter what sheet it is on and the number will be the index number you have given it.  In your case that would be 5 digits long.
