"Can't make type "Andersen_Csmt_Dbl_CR25_CW255_1679[1] : CW25"." Keep getting this message everytime I try to insert the Andersen windows that I just downloaded. I thought it had something to do with the head the element properties dialog box and the defines origin check box but, that didn't help. I tried inserting the windows in plan view and also from a 3D view to ensure that the wall was tall enough. I didn't check all the windows, I downloaded a lot. I tried six of them and I get the same error message. thanks for any suggestions Randy

I haven't had much luck with those Anderson window families either. 2009 didn't solve the problem. I reverted to simpler window families that I found here and use drafting views to include the detail that the sections need. if anyone else knows a way to fix them, I'd love to hear it too.

KIND OF NEW TO ALL OF THIS. IS THERE A WAY TO UPLOAD THE WINDOW(S) IF I CAN'T INSERT IT INTO A WALL? AMONG OTHERS, I WAS TRYING TO INSERT A CW25 UNIT THAT WAS AVAILABLE ON REVIT CITY.

Hi Typhoon: Thanks for the video. Finally got a chance to look at it. How can I open the suspect window drawing file, in order to follow along with the tutorial? I'm not sure how to access the window for editing if I can't insert it into a drawing. This is probably basic but only recently have I been able to make a full-time job of working with Revit. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to it.

I am having this same problem. I have used these Andersen Windows for years and now just updated to 2011. I can't get them to work. I even downloaded a new file and fixed the orgin and still can't place them. How did you figure it out? Help!
