I am using RAC2009 under an HP workstation 8600, 8Gb RAM with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 graphics board on Windows XP64. Everytime I use Pantone colors to make my color schemes, my keyboard stops working. Sometimes only a few keys - most common is the Esc, tab and delete keys. After this I have to reboot my workstation again in order to make it working properly. Other aplications work fine, such as Autocad, 3DMax design, etc. This happens only to revit2009. Does someone has any problem like this? I talked with the Autodesk certified seller and with HP support, none of them were able to solve the problem. Thx in advance

It seems an isolated case. Do you always have this trouble? What's you V-card and Mem?

Hi, I have been testing all the applications I have, I left the computer on for more than one night...All them work perfect, only Revit makes the keys stop working as described.. Did you test yours using pantone?

Hi All, I have recently installed RAC 09 and am having the same keyboard issues. This generally occurs when I have gone into the rendering dialogue. My keyboard freezes ad is totally in-operable. I see a few of you have also experienced this and was wondering if anybody had found an answer to rectify the issue at all.

"It seems an isolated case. " - I love this statement from anyone, programming bugs are not isolated ever we all carry them around and could have them at anytime. 1st if you have this problem please try a keyboard/mouse reset How to Reset your Keyboard and Mouse: Left hand "LCtrl+LAlt+LShift" + Right hand "RCtrl+RAlt+RShift" All at the sametime, it sure beats a full reboot. This might take a second to reset before ESC, Keyboard or Mouse work correctly. I've had 3 reports of these types of problems in Revit 2009 SP1. First problem was with Mouse Left button and Right button bug where the left button opens the properties but doesn't select or do normal left click action. Right button also opens properties. - Fixed by keyboard reset (Fails in both Windows and Revit) Second problem was with Esc stops working out of no where. Fixed for a while (30 minutes) by unpluging the keyboard then replugging it in. (Only fails in Revit 2009) Last problem was with text box that wont let you type in, a keyboard reset fixes this but only for a while (5 minutes) if you keep fighting with it sometimes it comes back. (Only fails in Revit 2009) These all need to be fixed (ASAP) and are not isolated. All my workstation are newer than 2 years, Precision 690's+ on XP 32-bit SP2 with Maxed Ram. Revit is SP1.

Also the Panton has a bug where windows says the program is busy (retry or switch to program) both fail and now your stuck in a loop. Temp Fix = Right Hand "Click x or retry" fast after the click x then Left hand "push Esc" This takes some timing as you have to push Esc before the retry comes back up. Repeatable by going back into Pantons.

Hey, I had the problem with the keyboard not working after going into pantone to create a new material. The keyboard stopped working in all programs and the only way I could get it to fix was by holding down a few keys very hard for a couple of seconds. I think I'll try the keyboard reset next time. With the switch to new program, I always get that error when I open up the pantone colour library. Does anyone know why it does this, and what program is Revit referring to, as I never know what to close?

I too have this same issue with RAC2009, and it always semm to be about the sametime I access the pantone colors. The only fix that works for me besides a restart, is to Alt/Tab to outlook start a new mail message and type franticly until the keyboard responds then I Alt/Tab bact to Revit and things are fine. we need a fix

Same problem here. It got so frustrating that our entire office decided to go back to using Revit-2008 until the bugs are fixed. With Autocad this would not have been a big issue, but since you can't "save back" to earlier versions in Revit it has caused some problems sharing families etc. Next time an upgrade is released we'll be very slow to make the jump!
