I recently installed RAC 2009 on my lappie and found it to be very slow in both 2D and 3D when compared to 2008. I first tried the obvious Open GL tick box under settings to no avail, and uninstall / reinstall etc. with no luck either. Then I decided I didn't really want the new view cube or steering wheel. Apart from the walk feature (which now finally brings Revit in line with ArchiCAD, VIZ and 3DS) the view cube and steering wheel are superfluous crap that the time and money spent on creating them would have been better spent on something more worth while, like the abiliy to slope walls on the fly (as in ArchiCAD !!!). I disabled both of these garbage features and all of a sudden 2D and 3D performance was on a par with RAC 2008. I have read around the net about numerous people experiencing the RAC 2009 slowdown, so it's worth a try if your having the same problem. These new features seem to be clogging the system (please pardon my technical prowess) at least on my lappie anyway, and maybe responsible for others systems.

Cheers & HTH.

Hi, I think RAC2009 it is really a little slow then 2008, I also install them in VISTA 64 and formerly i was in XP 32, i think now it's more speed because VISTA take advange from all the RAM i have, my machine is a Dual-Core 2 2.40Mhz 3Gb RAM, ATI X1600 512Mb, about the View Cube and steering wheel sincerely i don´t use them, it's a waste of time...
