i am looking for a room finish tag that would go in each room and pull its info from the the finish schedule. so the info could be in each room rather than having to flip back and forth to the finish schedule. this is a new area for me in revit i have not used finish schedules until now.
thanks
pete

Pete,
Take a look at the attached tag. We only display the wall finish and floor finish, but you could modify to display anything you want. This tag simply uses the standard Revit "labels" which is Revit speak for the database term "field". Labels in Revit simply display the underlying data of an object. In this case the object is the room (not the room tag).

Tom, I downloaded your room tag with finishes. I created a small four room bldg with a floor, used the room tool to create four rooms, and then substituted your tag for the default room tag. The tag picked up the room numbers, but not the wall and floor finishes. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong? Thanks Daryl Stockton

We are using Revit 9.1, the second build I think.

Boy this thread and the tag I supplied are two years old! The tag should still work in 9.1 It simply reads the properties in the room object for wall and floor finishes. Go to a room object and fill in those finish fields or create a room schedule and fill them in there.

Might just clarify that these tags do not read the actual material used on the walls/ceilings/floors. They have to be entered in manually into the room parameters.

Thanks guys. I should have realized the tag doesn't pick up the materials. I will get the schedules made.
