We have pre-set detail sheets, and we are going to include them, but we would like that every detail could be a view by itself. Therefore we can exclude some details, or shuffle them around different sheets. Plus we would like to use the Revit view titles for each of them. Now, here is my question: Can you link an Acad file and show it in multiple views, cropping it to show different parts of it, and then insert those views into sheets as independent details? Other option I was considering was to create individual DWGs for each detail, and link them individually, which is a lot of extra work. Is this possible?

your 2nd option is your best shot. Revit works on sheet not the same way as viewwports in pspace/autocad. you can only have 1 title (automatic) for one view. Import your autocad details each on their drafting views. so that when you bring them on a shet , they each have their on view/detail title. Create as many drafting views as you may need. I suggest, don't crop the imported/linked autocad files to get the view you need. (though you can do that), SOMETIMES IT GIVES AN UNPREDICTABLE RESULTS DURING SHEET PLOTTING. Create a folder and compile all your needed details there.
