Does anyone know how to modify the stair properties so that the topmost stair tread depth is four inches wider ( than the normative tread depth of the flight) as it attaches to the edge of a floor slab? also, the (closed) stringers would have to be 'trimmed' to level off at two inches above the slab as they also attach to the floor slab. i can't figure out how to get the stringer to extend beyond the last tread. is any of this possible with the revitized stair or am i better off building the 'ends' of the staircases as separate elements that attach to the revit stair run? if you can help, eternally indebted.

Have you checked out the Autodesk Revit Stair White papers crib sheet...? (attached)
This should help to explain what the different options do...
As for having a different tread thickness for the top tread, this is currently not possible. You would need to model it as a separate element.
HTH.
