Is there a way to make a detail component that when placed requires rotational alignment? To put it in simpler terms, I have a flashing profile. When I place it, after I click to set it down in the view, I want it to rotate around its origin (not its center) and align with my next click. This would make it easier to place, then align with roof slope. A sort of universal flashing tool. Tim

There are many things you can do here but the best is this. When you create your detail element, set the two reference planes as "defines origin" and build your component accordingly. Now, as you place your component, hover near the item you want to align to and hit the space bar. The componet will automatically rotate to align with what is close. If it is not the rotation you want, hit the space bar again and it will give you another option. When it is rotated right, you insertion point will then place it correctly.
