how do you tag a space with 2 rooms but only show one overall tag??? (one room tag to represent the two rooms - in total area) please help.

First select the wall that is between the two rooms and go to its element properties. Then uncheck the "Room Bounding" box. This removes the area defining attribute of the wall and should going the two areas into one. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Use Room separation line and hide them in view. This would create to rooms in one space.
