Revit 8.1 Problem:I am adding Typical Details to a project and I want to be able to turn off the scale label or manually edit it to say "No Scale" and currently I cant find a way to do this besides faking in text (don't want to do). The current options are:No titleTitle OnlyTitle w\LineDoes anyone have any ideas for modifying the View Title Family to allow the view scale to be able to be turned on or off or make it editable?

Edit your label family to create a new one that does not have the scale but has the text you want. Good time to become familiar with this family. Just click on a label and then edit family.

I did and it did not load. Seems to still revert to the default that comes delivered with the program or I am doing this all wrong. Have been able to make any family I want except for this. Does anyone know how to add the instance that will enable the ability to toggle the scale on or off?

If you created your family correctly, you should be able to select the view title and change it to your new title. When you place a view, pay attendtion to your options bar. The view title option is in the first pull down.

OK, I duplicated the existing one delivered with the program, opened it, deleted the Scale Label, renamed-saved and loaded and it still does not work. And I doing something wrong here? When I select the viewport, I only get the same options as I did before. No ability to select the newly created one, not even if I delete all of the views and try that way.

did you go into the type properties of the viewport to change the view title associated with it?

There are two things you need to create here... 1. The new family with the required text and display. 2. In the project you need to duplicate one of your View Title types such as "No Title", rename to be called "No Scale" then select your family you created in step 1. Then simply apply this view title type to the required views. HTH.
