I need to add diagonals to this truss. I've modeled everything except for the diagonals that are required each side...obviously because of the taper and the bow...I can't specify a plane to draw the diagonals...please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to finish this. In the meantime, I'll give it a whirl in the truss tool as well.

Hi, you can draw the diagonals using "Reference Lines" not "Ref Planes", with Ref Lines you can choose with "TAB" the "X" or "Z" axis, then.... I'm going download your model and when i have 5 minutes i take a look...

Thanks...it's more like the second one...one diagonal per panel...top chord to bottom chord each side. I'm going to give it a whirl.

I'm having no success with this. Need further instruction on how to manipulate the reference line...it always stays in the same plans...either x or z...i can't move one end independently. Thanks.

So...per the file I already attached I only need to add the diagonal members..they should span per the attached document, top chord (each side) to bottom bow chord.

Just as a alternative, sometimes its easier to do this using a void blend (set to not cut anything) and then use the vertices that the blend created to use the pick command to create a sweep along this vertex. Its just quicker, doesn't require the creation of lots of reference lines and marginally simpler to constrain.
