if you dont have the 3 gb switch enabled Revit can only utilize 2 gb of your ram. the autodesk website support center gives you detailed instruction on how to enable it.

Be careful: I tried the /3Gb switch and had unbelievable display hassles - I played with other switches like /USERVA= and /PAE to try to get it to work better but got nowhere - There seemed to be problems with the RAM addresses that my video (256 Mb ATi FireGL 7200) card was using. Eventually replaced the machine with another and this one reports 3.25 Gb available with no switches enabled and seems to run just fine. Both machines are Dell dual-core 3 Ghz with 4Gb of RAM

Hi "MikeM" thanks for advise, but it's to late, i do that but XP don't recognize the 3Gb, i ask for my " hardware supplier" and he told me it maybe the new drivers from "Chipset" so i go to Asus site and actualise the drivers, but XP don't LIKE so i "Crash", my solution was install Vista 64Bits, backup all my folders format the disk and them i install the new drivers from "Chipset" to my motherboard... now i work with Vista 64 and i don't have no more that problem... i "push" from Revit mental ray and it's ok...
