how do you turn off the stair break line? I want to show an enlarged stair plan referenced from a floor plan at small size. I tried VV/VG to modify all the cut line beyond to solid lines, it was staight forward. But when I tried Line work to make the break line invisible lines, it was not pickable. I later tried View range, but it seemed like i have to couple it with a few Plan Regions to show/not show stuff around the stairs... can anyone understand what I am asking shed some light?

I think what you are asking for can be accomplished by defining a plan reagion around your stairs. Using plan regions, you can define a different cut plane that will not cut your stairs. Chek its use out in your help menu.
