We need to produce area schedules that not only show the area. For approval, we have to break down the areas into discrete boxes that a plan examiner multiply out the dimensions of to verify the individual areas, then add all of those up to verify the total area. yes its a royal pain. So we need area schedules to show also the dimensions of boxes that we create and then multiply out those dimensions to get an area (this is due to the rounding errors created by the differences between the numbers examiners get by doing the multiplication and the numbers that revit returns as areas). We have tried a couple of different approaches, but there is always something that doesn't quite work. Are there any suggestions?

bump. if anyone is interested, we have finally worked out a way to do this that seems to work pretty well. we can't quite get the schedules to do everything we want, but we accomplished 90% of what we needed. if you want to know how, i can post a brief description of our approach.
