I am trying to create a label for a title sheet that will be the same for each sheet in the project, such as the project name label.  Does anyone have any experience on how to do this?

Study the sheet REVIT supplies you.  It already has that built-in and you can learn a lot from that.  Also, read your help on shared parameters and sheets.  REVIT's help is very good - you just need to use simple terms to find what you need.

Thanks for that - I did try to find out what I could from the standard Revit Sheet, I have since found out.  For others struggling with this, this is the method I used.

Create a shared parameter with the desired label name, type being text.

Go to project parameters under settings and add a parameter.  Check 'Project Information' under categories, click 'shared parameter' and find the previously created shared parameter.

On the title sheet, add a label, under select parameter click 'add' and select the shared parameter.  Reload the sheet.

Works a dream and shows in the project information dialogue box.

Great!  By discovering this on your own, you will be able to apply those same principals elsewhere.

This question and similar questions have been ask a lot and I have a couple of suggestions.

1. As WWHub suggested; Study the default families. Learn how to reverse engineer a family and apply those principals to what you are doing. That is the way a lot of people have learned how to make full use of Revit.

2. Study the Help documents. I realize the help file leaves a lot to be desired but it is getting better. In fact the documentation for 2009 is the best I have seen yet. I will go search the Help file first if I am asked a question and I am usually put on the right track.

3. Trial and error. Get in there and make some mistakes. I promise you will learn from them. I realize that not everybody has the luxury to just simply practice, but I suggest any time you have that you make the most of it.
