I am creating a door library for our office and need help with how I should go about doing this. Should I create frame profiles and door panels in seperate files and bring all of them together in a nested family? If so, what is the best way to do this?

yes you should, and i gues you will find the rest as you go allong, parameters made in for example a frame can be overwrited in the familie you load it in with an other parameter made in that familie, i set all parameter that should change automaticaly in the category 'other' and then link em to the imported familie, ex. Doorpanel width : formula : Width - (2 * Doorframe Thickness) you can olso change the door panel if two doorpanels are loaded into the familie, with the familie parameter Uber doors are olso possible i have a door that has sidewindows or not, only left or only right and a window above or not, and all the glasstypes can be changed with a click of the mouse same for the doorpanel little warning on that part , Revit takes allot of thinking in changing anything in that door but hey,,, atleast its not my brain cracking anymore :p
