I am trying to change the wall sweep prifile to a 1x12. But I can't seem to find out how to add a wall sweep type that will appear in the drop down box. I only have "Base 1" and "cornice". How can I do this? Thanks Gino

First, sweeps use profiles so you need to create or load the profile you want. Then you need to create the type of sweep. You can do this by starting your swwep command then you can choose one of the types yoou already have and create a new one from that by clicking on the properties icon, create new, assign a name and then choose the profile you want.

Here's a question... Would it be possible to create a sweep of a multi-member cornce detail? Starting from the bottom up, one of my Main Body Cornice Details consists of Frieze, Dentil, Modillion Frieze, Cove for Modillion Blocks, Modillion Blocks, Vented HardiSoffit, Fascia. It would be extremely cool if I could build this as a sweep and apply it where necessary. Wishful thinking?

Also, forgot to mention in the list of cornice members that we use a crown member between the dentil and the modillion frieze. See the photo.

Wall sweeps are profiles and profiles are closed loops so no multiple elements.

WWHub is correct, there are no multiple elements...BUT you CAN use detail components in your sweeps, so if you made a detail component for each part of your cornice, and imported them into your profile, put them together, then drew a closed loop around the outside, you will see the elements when you cut a section. I have not looked into this enough yet to know if you can make the hatch show or not. I attached an image of what a base moulding wall sweep might look like. I did this quickly with standard detail components from the Revit library, so PLEASE don;t critique my architectural capabilities! ![Winking](/images/smiles/wink.gif) Cheers. HTH.

Thanks for the input. I tried to upload a picture of the cornice I described but couldn't get it to connect. While I am new to Revit, and have much to learn, it would seem to me that there has to be some way for this idea to work. Think about how much time it could save -- and the improvements it would make to the drawings. Building a multimember cornice as a sweep would allow you to attach it to the roof and adjust everything together. For me, this would be great when I am trying to establish the proper kneewall height under the rafters in the attic to allow for the correct distance between the frize and the top of a brick jack arch. (One of the things NO architect or draftsman ever showed on any plans I worked on when building.)
