Our office is new to Revit, and is trying to get underway on our first Revit project, but in doing so, we need to create a couple of Revit standards that replicate our cad standards. I would like to make a dimension family, that instead of showing a numerical value, can have text in its place, such as "See Schedule" or "field verify". how would I make a new system family for these dimension styles. We are using Revit 2008, with a soon upgrade to 2009. thanks.

A workaround we have been using is to create a dim type with a text size of 1/256 so it will not show up. Then we just put a piece of text on the dim line.

R2009 is coming soon (it's already been released but many people including us do not have the disks yet), so you shouldn't have to live with this workaround for long.

Ok, so we justed upgraded to RA 2009. So, now how do we create a new dimension family with symbols instead of numerical values. or is that just not a possiblity.
