I was wondering if there is some way to lock a revit family so people can review it but can't steal your work. Any suggestions? I know in Excel you can program spreadsheets to lock or basically self destruct after a certain date. Does revit allow for some of that advanced programming?

You've seen the TV add with the woman in line who's SSN appears overhead and the guy behind her is copying it .... I think that's what we have.  It would be nice to be able to bury something in your families that could not be removed.  I used to do that with micro-dots in autocad blocks but you can't use really small items in REVIT and even if you could, there is always "select all instances" to find them.

I think you just have to be paid enough on unique items to cover their development and figure if you share the model, you run the risk of loosing control of them.
