I had this too, however it appeared that the installation was not finished it was still downloading as it was instaling, are you sure that it is fully finished installing as i run the program while it was still installing and it had not yet installed the render files, left it for a while once completly intsalled all works fine now.

Check the path of your library under settings - options - rendering tab and make sure that exists.

I had the same issue. I finally got the library to install but it took three tries.

I was having the same problem... What I found out was I had to uninstall revit, then reinstall. The trick seems to be that when you go through the reinstallation, it eventually gives you the option to configure Revit 2009 by hitting the configure button to the right of the program name. The rendering menu was not checked. I clicked the check box and it loaded up without a hitch and I dont get the message anymore when I open the program. Hope that helps... Craig

I also had this problem and had to remap the Revit.ini file through explorer find the file and open it. C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Program - (should be here) on the line where it says - MaterialLibraryFiles=C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Data\Rendering\assetlibrary_base.fbx Make sure this line above matches where you are telling it to look in Revit - Settings/Options/Rendering - Browse render appearance library location - Browse

bond, wwhub & twagnew were right if you are using windows xp platform. Window vista is from different locations or directories so better check it out. I would suggest also to load the protein materials library that you can download from autodesk and its free ciao

First my disclaimer, I don’t know how to fix this problem.
But someone just fixed it for me and this is what they did. Go to:
C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_Revit_Architecture_2013_English_Win_32bit-64bit\content\ADSKMaterials\2013\CM
and run MaterialLibrary2013.msi
Doing that reinstalled the Rendering Library for Revit 2013 in Windows 7.
Again, I don’t know what doing this will do for you, but it worked for me.
