Hello People
Has any one noticed that for example the australian autodesk website has Revit 8.0 but on the USA website you can only download Revit 7.
Can any explain to whats going on?

Yeah, there is a beta version of 8 out there for some people to test but Autodesk seems to be pretty serious about it not getting out to the general public quite yet... or so I hear

Not quite, if you don't renew your subscription you can't/aren't.
Only the person who manages the Autodesk account and those that person identifies are able to log in to the subscription site. It takes additional permissions to download from the site too. A firm can only allow in as many people as you hold licenses for if I remember correctly, unless something has changed.
So it is quite possible a Revit user may not be able to access the subscription site or participate in any beta programs offered by Autodesk.
P.S. Hiroshi...the quoting doesn't work very well. Mr. Spot's quote shows up as Scott's and Scott's shows up in my text...I can't fix it either.

Revit Building 8 is due to be release in US April 22. It is being called Building since they are working on a Structural version for the summer. Yes the version of 8 that is out is only a beta version for certain ppl who signed up for it early. I do know that it will support 3D DWF and be able to be linked to VIZ and 3DS Max (kind of like an XREF). I was not very familiar with the older versions of Revit so I am not sure what has been updated from the old versions.

No, Revit has no connection with Viz or Max. What will change will be that Viz 2006 and Max 7.5 will no longer require a special plugin to import a 3d dwg file from revit that will maintain material links.

Autodesk is due to release Revit Structure 1 this summer and is in the works for a version for the Mechanical side of things (thinking spring next year). I have not heard any rumors on weather or not this will include plumbing or electrical as Building Systems has but I am sure they are working on it for the HVAC side of things. Hope this helps clear things up.
