Hello, I'm fairly new to Revit (Arch 200 and have generated a 3D perspective view of my project and I'm noticing that the floor lines are showing through the siding in the view. The floors are aligned with the exterior face of core of my walls, which are subsequently covered with a 3/4" siding (I've increased the width of siding as well to see if this was the problem). I'm unable to select the lines with the linework tool in the perspective shot to make them invisible. The strange thing is that when I zoom in on the view, the lines disappear. Any idea how I can get these to become invisible? I don't want to turn the floors off in visibility graphics as I don't want to be able to see through the levels. Thanks!

Cut a detail section through the wall at the floor and post it.

OK - if I read your components correctly, it does look like your floor is short of the exterior. REVIT sometimes shows lines on our display which do not print. Since these floor lines go away when you zoom in, they may be that anomaly. Print your view and see if they show up in print. I'm betting they don't .

Are you printing this view? I've had lines of things showing through walls, that dissapear when you pan or change the zoom that don't show up when you print. I've also had the lines remain visible after treating them withe the invisible line tool that don't print.

Unfortunately, the lines do print. Below is an example of what's showing both on screen and in print. Thanks again for the help!

your only option maybe to use the line work tool and apply a invisible line to those lines HTH

I would if I could . The line work tool will not select them. It's as if Revit is thinking "you can't select those, they're not really there".

nOT SURE WHY THIS IS HAPPENING BUT TRY THIS JUST TO SEE WHAT IT DOES. i NOTICE THAT YOUR WALLS RUN THROUGH YOUR SLABS. Not sure what is happening but try this to see what it does. I notice that your walls run through your floors. Click on the floor and choose edit - then tweak the layout by moving one of the floor sketch lines (you can move it back later ). When you finish, allow REVIT to cut the volumn of the floor out of the intersecting walls (it will ask you). See how that affects your views.

Thanks WWHub, I noticed that too about the floor and wall relationship. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the issue. It corrects the detail (the walls no longer penetrate throught the floor), but the floor lines remain in all 3D views...

on one wall, create some seperation between the siding and the floor and see if the line disappears. if they do you may have create a very small seperation between the two for now as a work-around.

This doesn't just happen.... Is your exterior wall just one wall from top to bottom - not seperate wall sgments? Try pulling your floor line sketch in and see how far you have to move it until the floor line goes away. (Try middle of wall first)

I added a layer to the wall between the core boundary and the siding and varied its width (from 1/2" to 2" ) to no avail. I changed the material of this layer to a variety of settings as well with the same results. "This doesn't just happen" - you're starting to feel my pain Yes, my exterior wall is continuous from top to bottom. When I pull the floor line back to center of wall core, the lines on the exterior disappear. If I have to use this as a workaround, I will, but this will effect any detailing that we were going to have Revit do for us.
