Ce n'est pas un problème, Monsieur! Just start a new family object in Revit. Choose "RPC object". Draw a crude representation with model lines so that you can see/move the RPC object after inserting it. In the Family Parameter box, choose the RPC file that needs to be linked into the Revit Family file... C'est ça! R.J.A. van het Hof, F.M. Custom Design, Inc.

On the other hand, only a specific file version of RPC works with Revit (v2.5 I think). So that RPC file you insert needs to be a version 2.5 file. Current RPC stuff is version 3 or greater, so be careful! Wes

is Revit dropping support for rpc objects or is it just not up to speed on the new version?

Spoke with Archvision about the RPC issue about a month ago, as I have Max 6, cars in RPC, etc. The issue is with Accurender- which is McNeel's product. While McNeel is apparently working to bring the RPC of Accurender current, Archvision had no info on whether or not Adesk would update the renderer engine ( Accurender) in Revit. My gut feeling is as soon as Adesk can figure out how, they will drop Accurender, replace it with Viz, then screw up the learning curve of Revit users, just like they screw up ADT users every six months..... NOT impressed with Adesk's ADT policies - been using Adesk stuff since 1983 by the way. Post edited on 2004-03-31 05:14:33
