How do I change the shape of a slab edge? Would there be any way to edit a profile to make it have a different shape and size?

Hey ksemple, An easy way to modify the slab edge profile is by selecting the profile through the project browser. You select it this way because it would be considered a nested family. The profile loads into the sweep. Just navigate your project browser to FAMILIES > PROFILES > SLAB EDGE - THICKENED. From there just left click the size you want to modify and go into its properties, duplicate and change the dimension values. You can create a new shape in a couple ways: 1. Right click on SLAB EDGE - THICKENED in the browser, pick EDIT, and that will open the aforementioned profile in the family editor. From there you can easily change the shape to what you need it to be. 2. FILE > NEW > FAMILY > PROFILE.rft then go into SETTINGS menu > FAMILY CATAGORY and PARAMETERS... and change the usage to SLAB EDGE. From there have fun creating your new family. If you don't have much experience with families, I would go through the tutorials and take a look at how the factory created their profiles. HTH

I'm trying to use a custom slab edge. I've followed the steps in the previous post (changed the usage to slab edge) and I've loaded the family into my project. But when I click "slab edge" from the design bar, the custom slab edge family doesn't appear in the type selector. what am I missing?

Note that if the material of the slab and slab edge match they merge seamlessly but they stay separate if the materials are different.
