I need to create a chart for my project with the Square footages of Residential units by floor. I understand that you can make an area schedule that lists each unit and gives a level name, but I need a chart to look like the uploaded chart. Is it possible to do this in REVIT, or do I need to do it in excel? Our office is in transition into REVIT so the project was already started with a certain look that we need to keep.

No, REVIT's schedules will not directly look like this becasue the schedules place the parameters in columns and the values below that. Thus Unit name will be a column with 1A, 1B ... below that and Count is another column. A workaround is to have multiple schedules side by side .... filtered and sorted to give you the same look.
