I am a long time reviteer and this one stumps me I have an existing bldg (existing phase) and am demo-ing a door and window (demo phase) I have the new work in the New construction phase and set the filter to show complete and the wall infills show up. Is there a way to set this so I just see the final completed wall without the dopey rectangle outline of the infill....

within your phase filters, try making sure it says don't see demo'd, that you see existing and new, and nothing else. If that doesn't work, Let me know and I'll look further into it... once this walkthru is done

attached is image of my problem I set a new phase filter to be Show New + Existing and set my Demo phase to Not Displayed to no avail I tried creating a new workset and putting the infill in it and turning off the visibility but of course the whole piece of wall goes away... I tried joining the infill with the wall...no go All I wanna do is get rid of the infill outline...hummm In the past I have covered up the problem with a filled region or mask but there has to be a better way.

Here is what is happening: You have an existing building, and you are showing that existing building as you said using your demo material, or as I am more concerned, in your phase filter, you are overriding the existing. Your project has existing and new construction phases... Since you are saying that the window is destroyed in the new construction, Revit automatically fills up that hole... with a new wall. If all you are looking for is getting rid of the replaced opening, all you need to do is create a new phase filter: New - By Category Existing - By Category Demolished - Not Displayed Temporary - Not Important In your view, change your phase filter to this new one you created, now you won't see the filled in wall. Only problem is if in that view you did want to see the existing as a different color/shade than anything new, in that case another solution is to claim that the things being demo'd are destroyed at the same phase that they are built (this makes it so that you can't see the existing items as not demolished without changing your filter. I'm pretty sure the above is confusing, I apologize, just wanted to attempt to explain this confusing topic so that you could choose what is the best option for you. I believe the phase filter would be best, and more than likely fit all of your needs, so give it a try.
