Pancho here again,Anyone know how to make a component tag automatically when I drop it in my file? I know doors do this automatically and it saves time how can I do this with my own components? on to text, the descriptive text inside my components changes size every time I change scale how can I make it stay proportional between views or from view to view?

Don't know of a way to automatically tag components as you place them... but the text part, you need to make several different labels, which are different sizes based on the scale... i.e.- 1/16", or 1/8", or 1/4", etc.  Have these labels visibility controlled with a yes/no... Then you can click on the family and "tell" it what scale you have.  I worked really hard at trying to get this automated, i.e.- for my room tags, but I could never do it because we don't have the ability to extract the scale from the view... so you have to do it manually.  Also, this only works for annotation families, if you are doing this within a component family which might be seen in different scales, you would have the same size text showing in all views... hope that makes sense and helps.

If you want your tags to be the same size, no matter what the view scale, you can use just one family.  If you want the tag to scale down or up with the view, then different tags will work.
