Hey, all. Was hoping someone could clue me into the behavioral quirks with reveals and voids. I will try to explain: We have created a Generic Family for a control joint which is simply a wall based 3/8" void and adjustable height. When we slap it on a wall it works fine. THEN we put a reveal on the same wall, crossing the joint. Strange things happen. The single reveal splits itself, sort of. You can stretch the ends of the reveal, but not delete a section of it. So, we tried something else. We put reveals in first, having gaps between different reveals on the same plane... an interrupted band. THEN we put the joint in between the reveals in the area of the wall with no reveal. The reveals, however decide to connect themselves up as soon as the joint is placed. Huh? Could someone explain to me, or point me in the direction of some details about what is causing this behavoir? Why won't the reveals stay put? Currently, we are making a second wall based generic model that will take the place of the reveal, and that does not grow on its own, but it is not as easy to place as a reveal, and frankly, I prefer to use the tools as they are intended to be used, not find a work-around. Thanks for any help.
