I really need some help! I have linked a revit architecture file into my model. I am trying to control visibility in a plan view. I am currently working on a multi-story building and I am at level 2 framing. What I want to be able to see is the level one floor plan from the architect. i believe I have this turned on correctly, but all the linked objects are being displayed above my model objects. How can I get the linked model to appear as a "background"? Thanks for any help!

Okay, not sure what I did to make the difference, but I was able to get my model information in the fore ground and the linked revit arch model now appears in the back ground. However, line weights for the linked model do not seem to match the override setting I applied to them...If anyone has gone thru the daunting task of linking a revit arch model and has a process of "what to look for" and "things to do first" etc, that would be awesome! Thanks again!

In VG - under the REVIT links tab, you can check the halftone for the entire model or by clicking on the "By host view" you can will get a new screen where you can chage that to by view ... or custom where you can then individually control the visibility of all of the elements in the linked file. This allows those setting to be unique. In other words, you may have walls that are on in your file but off in the linked file.

Typically I only want to see the walls below with window and door openings. Is it best to copy/monitor the walls from the arch's model to mine? Would I get better visibility control that way?

I just was successful at getting the visibility the way I would like to see it for this view. Thanks for your help. Is there a way to apply the same settings to all my other levels, or is this a task for each level, each view in the model?

If all of the views are the same, you should be able to set it up in a view template.
