I'm making a family to set on top of a table. I'm using the Generic Model face based template. When I load the family into a project, instead of placeing it on top of the table, it places it on the side of the table, perpendicular to the ground. Should I be using a different template? What's the deal?

You have to edit the family and uncheck the always vertical box ... setting - family categories and parameters.
