I am working on a project where I am designing a penthouse ontop of an existing six story residential project.  I have imported a dwg elevation of the lower six floors into my revit elevation view and I have built the penthouse in 3d.  I want to visually "layer" the dwg in front of the revit model walls...etc.

The lower portion (dwg file) has a parapet wall that in elevation would block the bottom 42" of my new penthouse model.  As I have attempted to get this to work out, the dwg file reads transparent and I can see my model through the parapet wall portion of the imported dwg.  I thought I would just add a filled region or masked region and layer it behind the dwg but in front of my model.  Is this possible?  I cannot find a way to put the region behind the imported dwg file.  Has anyone come across this before?  I am going to have this issue in all four elevations.  Thanks in advance.

masking regions should not hide any added 2d linework if that is what your cad dwg is.

If this is a 3d cad import, you might try putting a 3d plane in the dwg.
