I was trying to build a small bathroom on the underside of a staircase. I can attach the wall to the staircase by editing the profile. But my question is how do I attach the smaller wall to the underside of the stairs? (see attachment)
I end up with it either penetrating the stairs or not attaching as I want it to...
Another question. I've seen Mr Spot's tutorial on how to attach a wall to a curved stair (great tutorial as usual; But is there any simpler way to do it?

I think you can try do a section thru the staircase, open up the section and create a in-place wall family using extrude and just align the sloped/ parallel line to the underside of the staircase...
btw, where to find Mr. Spot's tutorial on the attaching wall to the curved stairs...link please & thanks

I'm attaching it. I took it from the AUGI foruns but since the author is also a member in revitcity I suppose he won't mind. If you are Mr.Spot and you do mind about it, please just say so and I'll remove it immediatly.
The tutorial's great but is there an easier way to do it?

Nope i don't mind, i actually uploaded the tutorial here about 6 weeks ago now but still hasn't shown up. Guess the guys are really busy working on the site...
in elevation, draw a reference plane to align with underside of the stair then select the wall and use attach top to attach the wall to the reference plane.

HTH.I know this works with straight stairs, but my question was if there was an easier way to do this on spiral stairs other than the tutorial you made.

Not currently. Other method it to split the wall at each tread and then drag the top down to the underside of the stair (but if you have a smooth underside than my tutorial is currently the only way).
Try the Revit 8 beta...

Subscription members should have received an email in the last day or so about the current beta program. Official release is scheduled for April 22nd along side the structural package.

PAL, THE BEST AND THE ,UNFORTUNATELY, MOST "EASIEST" WAY IS TO CREATE A MASS SURFACE AND APPLY WALL BY SURFACE

I know this thread goes back to 2005, but I have to thank you guys who posted the tips for this process, never knew I could use reference planes for this sort of thing. MUCH appreciation!

Modeled a "roof" component to use as a stone cap and attatched the wall top to this. Might be useful in some of these situations.
