hi i can't seem to make the roof as illustrated in the attached image. i've tried to do the roof by defining slope, but i could not line up the ridges, so i did roof by slope arrow, which i prefer because i can determine the ridge heights where i want them. i was able to make 95% of the roof, but the last bay would not go. basically the roof can be created if i don't create a dormer in the last bay, but every time i try to create this last dormer i get the dreaded error at roof creation time. can somebody have a look at the attached images (the dormer that i cannot created is circled) and let me know why this roof won't create the last dormer using defined by slope? thanks.

Check this one out. I changed how the slopes were being defined. Open it up and edit the roof to see how I changed it. I've noticed that revit doesn't play well with the way you have the slopes defined at either end of the short sides of the roof. (basically defining the same surface twice) I changed two edges to define slope to make it work. I think you can take it from here.

Hi, thanks for the reply. this is a good solution. it does 98% of what i am looking for. the only problem is now i have to guess with the slopes to align with the ridge of the second roof. thanks, ill play with it to make work. g.

thanks for your help the filal solution was really quite simple. make the main roof sloped by "defines slope" and the rest with arrows. this allows me to make both seperate one roof again. here is the final solution if anyone is interested. thanks again.
