I am trying to create a simple steel plate with holes. I can create the family to have a thickness, width, height and even length. However, I would like to be able to have the option of hole locations, dia and even better, number of holes. I cant seem to get the void(circle) to "lock" to a ref. line. When I flex the family, just the ref. line moves and not the circle void. Also how to be able to set the specific hole size does not work well either. How would I go about having the option for one, two or three holes...or should that just be a seperate family? I know some of you experts out there can do this in your sleep...thanks for you help

Hi, Edit the hole, when the circle is visable select it, then go to it properties & tick the box 'Centre Mark Visable' now you can aling & lock the centre mark to a RPlane you can also add a radial dimension to the circle & make a parameter of it. Best of luck John A

you can control the number on an array with a parameter integer if your circles are in line with each other, and to control wheather they will cut make the hole ) you can set your void to -5 outside the volume that needs to be cut and link the other void length parameter to an 'if parameter formula' linked to a checkbox, if (circles cut,80,0) circles cut is the name of the parameter with the checkbox
